The City of Seville Municipal Housing Company modernises its core business applications with Genero

Madrid, Spain – December 19, 2017 – Empresa Municipal de Vivienda, Suelo y Equipamiento de Sevilla, S.A. (EMVISESA) – the Municipal Housing, Land and Equipment Company of the city of Seville – has selected Genero to modernize its core business applications through a public tender process.

After evaluating different scenarios, providers and tools, we choose Genero. Nothing matched its productivity, reliability and simplicity in the benchmarks we ran. I believe it will be much easier from now on to maintain our applications and keep them looking fresh.

About EMVISESA

EMVISESA’s fundamental mission is to facilitate the compliance of a basic principle of the Spanish Constitution – to provide housing for individuals and families whose low or moderate-income levels make it difficult for them to access decent housing at free market rates.

EMVISESA was constituted by the City Council of Seville on May 8, 1987, continuing the service originally provided since May 24, 1918 by the Municipal Housing Trust of Casas Baratas Seville.

This Trust was created at the request of the then Mayor of Seville, Pedro Rodriguez de la Borbolla Amoscotegui de Saavedra, to solve the “problem of housing workers” that was a major concern in Seville, due to the high price of rents, the evolving demographic and the lack of available rooms. The Board of Trustees was constituted on a charitable basis and became an operative instrument of the corporation to develop its housing policy.
