Four Js creates software factory with the University of the State of Mexico
Mexico City, Mexico – April 8, 2011 – The Autonomous University of the State of Mexico (UAEM) announced today it will create a software factory through an agreement with Four Js Development Tools that will provide employment for nearly 400 university students. The agreement was signed in the university’s Regents Board Room by president Eduardo Gasca Pliego and Four J’s Development Tools CEO, Jean-Georges Schwartz. Bryn Jenkins, Four Js COO and David Salazar, GM Latin America, were also present at the ceremony.
“This software factory is unique due to the nature of the collaboration between the international private sector and the national institute of higher education,” said Eduardo Gasca Pliego, President, University of the State of Mexico.
Gasca Pliego announced that the Mexican State – a leader in academic achievement – is committed to providing computer equipment, licenses and secure facilities for the creation of the software factory, whose focus is the development of leading edge software technology.
David Salazar reinforced the unique nature of the agreement and highlighted Four Js’ experience with developing Mexican software in Government agencies such as the Institute of Security and Social Services for State Workers, the Mexican Social Security Institute, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fisheries and Food and the Ministry of the Interior.
Samuel Sanchez, President of CSS and computer science alumnus, was instrumental in brokering the deal and will assist with local knowledge transfer.
Jaime Jaramillo Paniagua, Secretary of Administration for the UAEM, said it will seek to certify students and university faculties, creating course curriculae around the Genero language. Four Js for their part will assist in training students and provide guidance for their industrial placement. Four Js will also promote the software factory through its channels for those enterprises and business partners seeking highly skilled resources in Genero.
