Morocco’s mobile operator MEDITEL selects Genero for mission-critical applications
Casablanca, Morroco – January 10th 2007 — Méditel, Morocco’s largest private mobile telephone operator and a subsidiary of Spain’s Telefonica, has made the decision to deploy its billing and call center applications supporting over 500 users using Genero.
Méditel enjoys first place as Morocco’s mobile technology leader offering its suscribers EFR (Enhanced Full Rate) digital sound for superior voice quality. Couple this with its full range of multimedia services and a rapidly expanding subscriber base, their need for scalable, mission-critical development tools became a priority.
“Given the sensitivity and mission-critical nature of their applications, Méditel dedicated a lot of effort evaluating different platforms. After several months testing and benchmarking, Genero emerged as the clear leader, fitting the bill in terms of productivity and overall cost,” declared Ali Benharbit, Director Systems Integration, CBI.
Support and integration for the application is being assured by Casablanca based CBI, a major systems integrator in the region with 7 offices covering sectors as diversified as office automation, telecommunications and the Internet.
