Four Js Adds Ants Data Server to ODI
Irving, Texas, July 13, 2005 — Four Js Development Tools Inc., a leading provider of development tools and deployment infrastructure, today announced it has added native support for the ANTs Data Server to Genero.
With this addition, Genero customers can now take advantage of the first patented relational database management system (RDBMS) to take full advantage of the very latest microprocessor architectures.
Providing 5 to 15 times the speed of conventional relational databases, ANTS Data Server employs unique techniques borrowed from the world of massively parallel processing (MPP) to provide industry leading scalability and performance for mission critical business applications.
The ANTs Data Server is a full-featured, standards-compliant relational database management system based on a breakthrough, high-performance SQL query execution engine that incorporates innovative, lock-free operations. Its pioneering database architecture incorporates several patented technologies designed to deliver extremely high database throughput for heavy workload applications.
Performance-critical database operations in the financial services, wireless, hosted applications, logistics and other high-transaction volume industries can be deployed on fewer, low-cost servers with the potential to reduce hardware, software and system administration costs by 60 to 90 percent. ANTs is the database performance leader and a logical addition to Genero.
“Many of our customers are house-hold names and need robust, highly scalable performance for their mission critical applications that run core business processes,” said Bryn Jenkins, Four Js chief operating officer. “Our corporate missions are aligned. We both want to reduce hardware, software, and development costs in a world of spiraling complexity. With this announcement, our customers can combine the power of Genero with a very special database and make real economies on their IT budgets.”
Genero accesses ANTs Data Server through its Open Database Interface (ODI) providing an API for native database drivers – that dramatically improves reliability and throughput. In addition, support is provided for database-specific features such as stored procedures. The ANTs Data Server natively supports both Microsoft and Sybase (Transact-SQL) and Oracle (PL/SQL) languages for stored procedures and triggers.
“We are excited that Four Js has chosen to provide native support for the ANTs Data Server for its flagship Genero product suite said Boyd Pearce, ANTs chief executive officer. “Four Js customers now have easy access to a breakthrough database management system that delivers performance and scalability unmatched by any other commercial RDBMS.”
Designed for high-availability applications, the ANTs Data Server includes disaster recovery capabilities such as replication and failover with automatic recovery. Because of its patented architecture, replication and on-line backup have a minimal affect on performance and enable unmatched recovery speed. Robust disaster recovery capabilities are requirements for compliance with a wide range of regulations such as the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, Gramm-Leach Bliley and others.
Expect availability Q4.
