Spanish Airforce revamps portal using Genero’s Web Client
Madrid, Spain – June 3, 2008 — Four Js Development Tools announced today the decision of the Spanish Air Force to deploy a brand new executive management portal within the Spanish Ministry of Defence serving 5,000 users.
After the successful implementation of several intranet systems servicing 1000+ concurrent users over the past few years, this new application publishes executive level information fed by all apsects of the day-to-day business via web services.
“Genero has enabled us to leverage the very latest hardware and software techniques the computer industry can throw at us,”
Project manager,
Col. Cintea D. José Emérito Vázquez Ramos“Our development team has good solid experience with Genero and we use it for all new application requests,” continued Col. Vázquez Ramos. “This latest development is being completed in record time and I’ve got others lining up behind it. What’s key though is the trusted relationship we have with Four Js. They provide us with a top class product and excellent technical support. They get my five star rating and continued investment in the foreseeable future. “
The new portal replaces an existing system developed with IBM® Websphere® that had become too cumbersome to manage. Information fed to the portal undergoes constant change and the process of managing this became too complex. The new system makes extensive use of the Genero Web Client and greatly simplifies the process of content managment, consolidating at the same time the economic and financial management project SIGEA (Sistema Integrado de Gestion Economica del Aire – Integrated Air Force Budget Management System). SIGEA is being updated to dovetail with this new portal system.
“The partnership between the Spanish Air Force and Four Js has paid for itself many times over in the 10 years that we have been working together,” declared Col. Emerito Vazquez Ramos.
“This is one of the best deployments of the GWC we have seen,” declared Manuel Jorge de Souza, VP Iberian Sales, Four Js. “This is a springboard for much bigger and broader projects being worked within the Ministry of Defense.”
