SunGard K12 Education tightens loop between schools and parents with mobile access
Irving, Texas – April 15, 2015 – SunGard K12 Education, a division of SunGard Corp. with annual revenues of $2.8Bn, has announced plans to launch a subset of its populareSchoolPLUS application developed in Genero Mobile. The mobile app will be available from their new app store free of charge.
This will be a great way to start grass roots sales interest among teachers, parents, and students and will lead to sales of the full product in new school districts,” according to Chris Everleth, VP Development & Group Product Manager at SunGard Public Sector.
Providing mobile access to administrators, teachers, students and parents is in recognition that we increasingly lean toward mobile apps for our experience rather than through Web sites. This app lets stakeholders take the power of eSchoolPLUS and place valuable information at everyone’s fingertips, anytime, and anyplace.
“Today, it’s not enough to view a student information system as just a repository of data. That’s the old paradigm. The new paradigm is about moving beyond the commoditization of student information systems into innovative, action-oriented support for schools. At the end of the day, it’s not only about seeing how our students did. Instead it’s about knowing right now that this student needs some support and how we can use insights from the data to help that student.” Read more in Chris’s blog.
It’s great to work with forward thinking companies like SunGard that are really pushing the envelope,” said Joe Golden, VP Sales, Four Js Development Tools Inc. “We share the vision that mobile enterprise apps are going to transform the user experience as we go to smartphones for more and more of our content.”
