Configuring GIP account requests

Users can request accounts in two ways: local GIP requests or external IdP requests.

This topic summarises the two supported approaches for requesting accounts. For configuration and step-by-step instructions, open the linked task topics.

Local GIP

End users can request a GIP-managed account from the GIP sign-in screen. Requests typically require administrator approval before the account becomes active. To enable and configure this feature, go to Configure the account request feature for local GIP accounts .

External IdP

After you register an external Identity Provider (IdP) in the GIP, users authenticating through that IdP can request an account from the GIP sign-in screen. For details, go to Configure external IdP authentication. Requests typically require GIP administrator approval before the account becomes active. To enable and configure external account requests, go to Configure account requests for external IdPs .

Administrator actions

Administrators review incoming requests, approve or reject them, and assign roles. For administrative guidance, go to Manage Console App user requests .
