Genero Studio file types and extensions

The list of file types and extenions used by Genero Studio.

Table 1. Meta-schema Manager file extensions

File Extension	Description
.4db	Database meta-schema file. Use this meta-schema file with standard (non-BAM) Genero Studio projects.
.4dbx	Database meta-schema file. To use a meta-schema with a BAM project, you must save it using the .4dbx extension.
.sch	BDL schema file.

Table 2. Project Manager file extensions

File Extension	Description
.4pw	Project file.
.4pdb	Binary file containing symbols used for code analysis. This is an internal file; do not modify or remove.
.4pwdb	Binary file containing dependencies used for compilation. This is an internal file; do not modify or remove.
.4pwcfg	Binary file containing the last configuration used with the project. This is an internal file; do not modify or remove.
.4pwvs	Binary file storing the state of the project. This is an internal file; do not modify or remove.

.4fd	Standard form definition file.
.4fd*	Form definition file for Business Application Modeler (BAM). For a full list, see Table 5.

.xsd	XML data schema. This data schema is extracted from XML data sources. For more information, go to the Genero Report Writer User Guide.
.rds	Report data sample file. This file must be in the same directory as its associated data schema file. For more information, go to the Genero Report Writer User Guide.
