User definitions

Users can be managed by using the buttons in the toolbar:

Important:

DB Sync users can only be created/dropped and associated to apps, when using the DB Sync direct mode. With GAS/GIP mode, the DB Sync system automatically creates DB Sync users and app association, the first time the DB Sync client app connects to the central DB Sync service. In the GAS/GIP mode, users can only be modified, but they cannot be dropped in the user console. If you need to drop users created in GAS/GIP mode for testing purpose, start the dbsync_user_conf program from the command line with the -x option.

The toolbar options are:
  • New user - Creates a new user definition (direct mode only)

  • Clone - Copies the selected user definition to create a new user (direct mode only)

  • Modify - Modifies the selected user definition.

  • Delete - Drops the current user definition (direct mode only)

  • Apps - Links application to the selected user definition. For more information, go to Associating apps to users (direct mode only)

  • Permissions - Sets user permissions on all tables for a selected app. For more information, go to User/App/Table permissions.

  • Reset ts - Resets modification timestamps for all users. This will force a full sync for existing users/apps, fetching all central data reduced by data filters.

  • Clear pswd - Clears the selected user password.

  • Statuses - Activates or deactivates all users.
