Create DB Sync users

End users using DB Sync client apps must be declared in GIP.

Tip:

In the context of GAS upgrade, these steps can be skipped, as long as the GIP configuration files and databases (.genero-sso) are kept.

To create DB Sync users:
  1. Open the demos.html starter page in a browser:
    http[s]://host:port/demos.html
    For example:
    http://toro:6394/demos.html

  2. Start the Console application program.

  3. Connect as GIP administrator user.

  4. Users > New
    • Enter the user login and password
    • Click on Register
  5. Assign the DBSync_group to the new created user:
    • Groups
    • Select DBSync_users
    • Save changes
  6. Authorize the user to run DB Sync client apps:
    • Permissions
    • In Authorization roles, select a role (for ex Role.app_library)
    • Save changes

With the GAS/SSO/GIP solution, DB Sync user objects are automatically created in the system tables during the first sync procedure with the DB Sync server.

DB Sync user properties can be viewed and edited with the DB Sync users console. However, when using the GAS/SSO/GIP, end users can only be created from the GIP console.
