Configure licensing with version 6.00 for Genero prior to 3.21

To make your Genero 3.20 or Genero 3.10 installation compatible with Four Js License Manager 6.00, you must upgrade the license controller to version 6.00 and configure the Genero installation to run in compatibility mode. To use a subscription license with your Genero 3.20 and 3.10 installation, licensing tools version 6.00 is required; therefore, upgrading the license controller and configuring the Genero installation to run in compatibility mode is also required.

Configuration for compatibility mode is only required when:
  • You want your Genero 3.20 or 3.10 installation to use a Four Js License Manager version 6.00.
  • You want your Genero 3.20 and 3.10 installation to use subscription licensing.
Important:

At this time, you can configure compatibility for Genero 3.20 and 3.10 installations.

Before you begin, if using FLM, you must have configured the server, and you must have the service running.

  1. Update the Genero product license controller to the latest version. See Patch license controller using the upgrade tool.
The license controller is updated to the latest version.
  2. Configure the Genero 3.20 and 3.10 installation for compatibility with FLM 6.

Set flm.server="compatv6" in the product installation /etc/fglprofile file.

The license controller for the Genero installation is now set to the latest version.

If you encounter errors during the upgrade, licensing version 6 errors are mapped to the number -6000 and below. Full information on errors (including the mapping) will be found in the logs. If assistance is required, contact your local Four Js support center.
