Before installing Genero Studio, ensure that your system meets the minimum system requirements.

Display

Minimum video resolution is XGA (1024x768).

Genero compatibility

Genero Studio is compliant with Genero 1.3x and above.

Operating systems

Genero Studio is supported on a variety of operating systems.

For a detailed list of supported operating systems, refer to the Supported platforms and databases document (available on the Products download page of the Four Js Web site) or contact your support center. This document also informs you which operating systems will no longer be supported as of the next release.

Disk space

As the amount of disk space required may vary slightly, depending on the operating system, and the released version, you will need to estimate disk space. The disk space needed for installation may be calculated by multiplying the size of the download file by 5. Once the product is installed, the required disk space is approximately the size of the download file multiplied by 2.

Java

Genero Studio requires Java JRE for Java extensions in Genero BDL, Genero Report Engine (GRE), and Java JDK for Genero Mobile for Android™ (GMA).

The version of Java that is supported can vary based on the product or component. To ensure you are viewing the latest information about Java version support for a specific product or component, refer to the Supported platforms and databases document (available on the Products download page of the Four Js Web site) or contact your support center.

Genero Mobile

Requirements for Android emulator hardware acceleration:

The Android emulator requires a processor with virtualization technology and a dedicated driver. Most recent Intel® processors support virtualization (VT-x, EM64T). See Speeding Up the Android* Emulator on Intel Architecture.

Genero Components

The Genero Studio installation can install the Genero Business Development Language (BDL), the Genero Application Server (GAS), the Genero Report Engine (GRE), the Genero Desktop Client (GDC), the Genero Mobile for Android (GMA), Genero Mobile for iOS (GMI) (when installing on macOS™), and the Genero Ghost Client (GGC).
