GDC 4.01 upgrade guide

This section describes differences you may encounter when upgrading to Genero Desktop Client (GDC) 4.01.

Important:

This is an incremental upgrade guide that covers only topics related to the Genero Desktop Client version specified in the page title. Check prior upgrade guides if you migrate from an earlier version. Make sure to also read about the new features for this version.

This minor release does not require you to complete specific instructions or be aware of changes when upgrading from the previous version.

Rendering is now based on Genero infrastructure

Starting with 4.01.07, the rendering used by the Genero Desktop Client is dependant on the Genero infrastructure used.
  • When using FGLGWS 4.01 and above (direct mode or UA protocol), GDC uses universal rendering.
  • When using FGLGWS 3.21 or earlier (direct mode or UA protocol), GDC uses native rendering.

GDC is now based on QT6

Starting at 4.01.06, GDC is now based on QT6. This may result in minor updates to UI rendering. For more information, visit Welcome to Qt 6.

Changes in earlier versions
