Genero Web Client Basics / What is the GWC? |
The theme used to display an application is based on the browser detected.
The Genero Application Server is a snippet based rendering engine (SBRE). When the Genero Application Server displays an application using the Genero Web Client, it detects the type of browser. Based on the browser type, it identifies the MAP to be used. The MAP defines the RENDERING engine to use and the THEME to apply. The THEME specifies the TEMPLATE and SNIPPET sets to use. As a result, the GAS renders the application using the appropriate language for the recipient browser.
The Genero Web Client installs with several default THEME elements, each mapping to its own default template and snippet sets. You can customize those template and snippet files, or you can create your own themes, templates, and snippet sets.
The HTML5 theme is the theme to use for all Genero Web Client applications. The HTML5 theme is dedicated to the latest version of desktop browsers and mobile devices (smartphones and tablets). It uses the new features of HTML5 to give a better user experience without the need for a lot of JavaScriptâ„¢.
