security.HexBinary.FromStringWithCharset

Encodes a given string in hexadecimal, according to a given charset.

Syntax

security.HexBinary.FromStringWithCharset(
  source STRING,
  charset STRING )
  RETURNING result STRING

source is the source string to be encoded in hexadecimal.
charset is the character set to be used.
result is the encoded hexadecimal string.

Usage

Encodes the given string and returns it in hexadecimal.

Before conversion, the string is converted from the local DVM charset to the specified encoding.

In case of error, the method throws an exception and sets the STATUS variable. Depending on the error, a human-readable description of the problem is available in the SQLCA.SQLERRM register. See Error handling in GWS calls (STATUS).
