Steps to apply maintenance or subscription key (GRE)
You apply a maintenance key (also known as a subscription key depending on your contract) when you are installing a license for a product and thereafter when you renew your maintenance contract.
An active maintenance contract is required to license a product. The maintenance key determines which version of the Genero product you are authorized to use with your license, and the date that the maintenance contract expires.
Before you begin applying a maintenance key:
- Decide which tool (GUI or command line) you are using to install the key:
- Genero Report Engine Licenser (GUI application)
- greWrt (command line tool).
- Determine if you have internet access from the machine you are licensing the product.
- Use Table 1 to choose your licensing option, and select the procedure to follow.
