Configure Genero Studio for Report Writer for Java

In most cases, the Java configuration is handled during installation. Follow this procedure to change the default Java configuration values.

Before you begin:

  • You have installed and licensed Genero Report Writer.
  • You must know the path of the Java SE Development Kit installation directory.

If you want to use Java, the value of the JAVA_HOME environment variable, found in the Java SDK environment set, must be set to your local JDK directory.

  1. Select Tools >> Genero Configurations.
  2. Under the Environment Sets section, select Java SDK.
    The JAVA_HOME environment variable is listed under the Environment Variables section.
  3. Select the JAVA_HOME environment variable.
  4. Click the Edit icon to open the Environment Variable dialog.
  5. Set Value to your local directory for the JDK.
    Tip:

    The Type combobox tells you what type of value is expected.

  6. Click OK until all dialogs close.
  7. Run the OrderReportJava demo to verify your configuration.
