Configure the GGC

How you configure Genero Studio to find and use the Genero Ghost Client (GGC) will depend on the version of the Genero compiler/runtime being used.

Genero compiler / runtime 5.00 and greater

When using Genero Studio with Genero BDL with Web Services (FGLGWS) 5.00 or greater, you must complete these steps to use the Genero Ghost Client.

  1. Install the Genero Ghose Client package. For more information, go to Install the Genero Ghost Client package in the Genero Ghost Client User Guide.
  2. From Genero Studio, select Tools > Genero Configurations. The Genero Configuration Management window opens.
  3. Within Environment Sets, select Testing Utilities.
    Tip:

Rather than edit the default Testing Utilities environment set, you may wish to create and modify a copy of this environment set. This allows you to maintain the original environment set for any configurations that use the default FGLGWS installation.

  4. Within Environment Variables, select the row defining the GGCDIR environment variable. Click the Edit icon to open the Environment Variable window.
  5. Set the Value to the directory where the GGC package is installed.
  6. Select OK to close the window.

Genero compiler / runtime 4.01 and earlier

When using Genero Studio with Genero BDL with Web Services (FGLGWS) 4.01 or earlier, no action is needed for using the Genero Ghost Client.

Versions of the Genero BDL with Web Services (FGLGWS) 4.01 or earlier include the Genero Ghost Client as part of the installation, and the Testing Utilities environment set points to the correct location to the Genero Ghost Client within FGLDIR.
