Changes to Subversion (SVN) plugin

Subversion (SVN) is now disabled by default. It must be enabled when working with Apache's Subversion client. For more information, go to the Subversion plugin overview.

FIELD element desupported FGLGWS 6.00

With version 6.00 or higher, the FIELD element is no longer supported. For information on this deprecated item type, go to Field - deprecated.

GAS Startup Changes

Previously, the Genero Application Server (GAS) started automatically only when running or debugging an application.

Now, the GAS starts automatically when performing any of the following:

  • Running or debugging an application or test.
  • Deploying a GAR or Genero Web Application (GWA) package.
  • Opening the Application Server Monitor (Tools > Genero Tools > Open Application Server Monitor).

Display of GAS related URLs

Previously, TCL deployment scripts generated the URLs shown in the Output panel when publishing GAR/GWA packages.

Now, GST queries gasadmin to retrieve the list of available applications. GST then generates and displays URLs based on the configured host settings.

You can enable QR code display for these URLs via Tools > Preferences > General > Messages > Output Window.

Note:

This requires valid network configuration and functioning name resolution services.

GAS Task display enhancements

Previously, GAS tasks in the Tasks panel showed only the host name and common network icon. Now, the icon reflects the origin:

  • When GST launches the GAS the icon shows a computer connected to a network.
  • If GST detected an existing GAS, the icon shows a globe.

The task label now displays the GAS configuration name from the Genero Application Server Management dialog.

To view detailed connection info, right click the task and select Information. The information displays in the Output panel. GST displays:

  • Whether GST launched the GAS or discovered it on the network.
  • The connected host.
  • The full command line used to launch the GAS (if applicable).
  • URLs based on the configured host settings.

Updated Host field behavior

The Host field in the Genero Application Server management window now displays the hostname based on the current configuration. Previously the field showed the placeholder <Automatic>. It now reflects either the local machine's hostname or the server's hostname, depending on the connection.

For more information, go to Configure for the Web client.

Displaying open documents in a project

The blue icon, previously used to display all open documents in a project, has been removed. The Open Editors view now displays all open documents in a project.

For more information, go to Open Editors.

Genero Configuration Management window reorganized

The Genero Configuration Management window separates the runtime and display configuration from the environment variable set configuration. For more information, go to Genero Configuration Management dialog.

Close icon moved into tab

Previously, clicking the red X icon closed the active tab in the Document Workspace. Now, each tab includes its own close icon (X) to immediately close the displayed document.
