Modules

Genero Studio is made up of modules managing the design, development, and execution of Genero applications.

A module is also commonly referred to as a plug-in.

BAM - Application Modeling and Code Generation
Genero Studio Business Application Modeling (BAM) is a graphical tool for generating code that extracts data and creates data models in BDL. It generates the logic and source code for an application to query, add, update and delete rows in database tables. It can generate desktop, web, and mobile applications.
Code Analyzer
The Code Analyzer reverse engineers existing applications and generates diagrams to provide an overview of the application.
Code Editor
Code Editor is a programming-oriented editor. In addition to editing source code, it can handle any kind of text as well as languages such as Genero BDL and XML. Smart editing features like auto-completion, code templates, and robust search make coding easier and more efficient.
Debugger
The Graphical Debugger provides a GUI for testing and controlling the behavior of a Genero application.
Diff
The Diff tool compares two files in the Code Editor. You can compare the read-only base copy and working copy of a file, or select two files to compare with each other.
File Browser
File Browser is a tool to navigate, open, delete or rename files, and to create new folders or files on a file system.
Form Designer
Form Designer is a visual editor that supports the creation, editing, and layout of Genero forms in Genero Studio.
Meta-schema Manager
The Meta-schema Manager is a visual tool used to design, create and maintain database meta-schema files.
Project Manager
Genero Studio uses projects to manage the source files, resources, environment variables, and rules for building and executing programs.
Report Writer
The Genero Report Writer includes a graphical report designer, report engine, and report viewer. Report applications are written using the Genero Business Development Language.
Source Code Management
Genero Source Code Management (SCM) enables collaborative sharing and maintaining of the files in Genero projects.
Web Services
Web services can be called from a Genero application. The Web Service Wizard guides you through the process of adding a Web service. Web services can also be generated from the Business Application Modeling tools.
