Add a global-level environment variable

When defining an environment variable for a language, you can define it at the global level.

Environment variables set at the Global level are applied for the user on a single machine. Global variables can be overridden at the Specific or Project level.

  1. Select Tools > Global > Edit Build Rules.
    The Build Rules Configuration dialog opens.
  2. Verify the correct language is selected from the Language combobox.
  3. Click the Variables tab
  4. Click the add icon (+)
  5. Follow the instructions to Add or edit environment variables.
    When you have finished, the environment variable displays under the Project folder.
  6. Click OK.
    The Build Rules Configuration dialog closes.
