Create a new configuration
For every unique combination of Genero components and environment sets, a new Genero configuration must be created.
About this task
You can have many reasons for needing a new configuration. You may need to point the configuration to a previous version of FGL, or you may need a configuration that uses different environment sets.
When you create a new configuration, you will either add a new configuration or duplicate an
existing configuration.
- When you add a new configuration, the Compiler / Runtime and Display settings are taken from the active configuration. By default, no environment sets are selected.
- When you duplicate an existing configuration, all settings from the selected configuration are used to create the duplicate.
The new configuration exists, yet you will likely need to do additional modification to your
configuration.
- If you need to change the version of FGL, update the Genero installation component in the Compiler / Runtime section.
- If you need to change the version of GAS or GDC, update the client details in the Display .
- If you need to change the version or details of the GMA or GMI, in addition to setting the correct client in the Display section, you must also modify the corresponding client-specific environment set.
- If you need to change the version of the GRE, you must modify the environment set for the Genero Report Writer.
