Compatibility reports

Compatibility reports are Genero ASCII reports that are rendered graphically by Genero Report Writer.

A compatibility report requires no code changes and no report design document (4rp). It is rendered using monospace fonts such as Courier. Page breaks occur at the same positions as in the original report.

Compatibility reports have the following advantages over ASCII reports:
  • They are viewed in the same viewers as graphical reports.
  • They are available in the same output formats as graphical reports.
  • The font and paper format can be changed.
  • They can be customized. For example, you can add images to a compatibility report.
