Span one or more columns (cells) within a row into a single cell or span one or more
cells in a column between rows. You can also revert the merge and convert the merged cell back to
its original number of cells.
About this task
You can merge the cells within a single row, or you can merge the cells of a column across
rows.

Select multiple cells.
Hold down the Ctrl key and click on each cell you wish to merge. As each cell is selected, it
turns blue in color.

Right-click and select from the context menu.

To reverse the merge, right-click on the merged cell and select from the context menu.
The merged cell is split back into its original columns. Any content of the merged cell
is put into the first column cell.
