Install on Linux

Follow this procedure to install the Genero Evaluation Program (GEP) package on the Linux® platform.

The installation and licensing of Genero products requires you to read and accept the End User License Agreement, which can be found on the Four Js website at https://4js.com/end-user-license-agreements/.

  • Red Hat® Enterprise 7.5 - 8
  • CentOS 7.5
  • Oracle® Linux 7.5 - 8.x
  • Debian® Stable (10.x)
  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 - 15
Important:

Before installation on Linux systems, verify the libxcb libraries are installed.

  1. Log in as a user with sufficient privileges to install the software in the target directory.
    Warning:

    Do not install the Genero Evaluation Program as the user root.

  2. Run the auto-extractable shell script and follow the instructions.
    $ ./fjs-gep-3.20.07-build167016-l64xl217.run  
    The installation program identifies the operating system and checks that all system requirements are met before copying the product files to disk.
  3. Follow the installation wizard prompts.
  4. License the product by selecting option number 3 - Install local license, using the license number and license key found in your confirmation email.
    If necessary, you can license your product after installation by starting Genero Studio and selecting Tools > Genero tools > Genero BDL Licenser.
    Alternatively, you can license your product after installation by running fglWrt at the command line.
    Tip:

    Use fglWrt -options for licensing options.

  5. To exit the licensing dialog, click Quit.
