Configure compatibility for Genero

To make your Genero 3.20 and 3.10 installations compatible with FLM 6.00, you must configure them to run in compatibility mode.

Before you begin, you must have configured the Four Js License Manager (FLM) server, and you must have the service running.
Important: At this time, you can configure compatibility for Genero 3.20 and 3.10 installations.
  1. Update the Genero product license controller to the latest version. See Patching a license controller.
The license controller is updated to the latest version.
  2. Configure the Genero 3.20 or 3.10 installation for compatibility with FLM 6.

Set flm.server="compatv6" in the FGLPROFILE file.

The license controller for the Genero installation will now use FLM 6.00.

If you encounter errors during the upgrade, licensing version 6 errors are mapped to the number -6000 and below. Full information on errors (including the mapping) will be found in the logs. If assistance is required, contact your local Four Js support center.

  3. Install the product license on the FLM server.
Use the flmprg tool. For details of installing licenses in FLM, see the page Steps to licensing with FLM in the Four Js License Manager User Guide
  4. Add FLM server details and the product's license number to the license controller configuration file, fgllicense or grelicense.
For details of configuring the license controller to use the FLM, see Configure the Genero product license controller.
