The gwcproxy manages one GWC application session using a theme other than the HTML5 theme (AJAX, SL, IPHONE, or BASIC).
The gwcproxy must be started by a dispatcher.
If you run the gwcproxy at command line you will get the message "ERROR: FGL_VMPROXY_SESSION_ID not set".
