Licensing 7.00 upgrade guide

These topics describe product changes you must be aware of when upgrading to version 7.00.

Important:

This is an incremental upgrade guide that covers only topics related to the Genero version specified in the page title. Check prior upgrade guides if you migrate from an earlier version, and complete the migration tasks for all versions between your existing version and the target version in order. Make sure to also read about the new features for this version.

Important changes to temporary license installation

Starting with FLM 7.00, temporary licenses follow new rules. These changes apply only to licenses that use the new license numbering introduced in FLM 7.00:

  • They work as temporary for 90 days from the creation date.
  • You must activate the license within 90 days; otherwise, it stops working.

For more information, go to How Genero Licensing Works

Container licensing change

If you previously managed containers using an FLM server, note that containers now require a specific container license. This license must be installed when the container starts. Ensure your container startup process includes the license installation step. For details about the container license and its installation, refer to the Install and License your Genero Products guide

Changes to the Systemd service template

The systemd service template for Linux® has updates:
  • The User= and Group= directives are added for dispatcher processes, allowing you to specify the user and group that run the dispatcher process.
  • SELinux-related directives are included in the template as commented-out examples for environments where SELinux is enabled and enforcing.
