Hello,

The performance of the report writer seems to be very slow. I have a report that is only two pages long and only a single row of data being streamed to it. It is taking the report writer > 10 seconds to deliver the finished report to the desktop. How can the report writer infrastructure be optimized?

Thank You

Joe Miller

Hi Joe,

This doesn't seem to be a normal behaviour according to the content of your report. Can I ask you following:
- How does your report file (.4rp) and the 4GL source file look like ? Can you send them to me?
- Do you generate an SVG or a PDF output?
- What about your configuration, are you working locally or in remote mode? What OSes are you using?
- Do you also experience this problem when running the demo reports (using the demo application located in <GRD_installation_dir>\samples\demos)?
Many thanks in advance,

Regards,
Romain

Hi Romain,

1) please see attached 4gl. I will need to pose the rdd & 4rp files seprately as the forum complains that attaching everything is too large.
2) I generate to PDF, I have also generated to SVG without any difference in performance
3) configuration remote GDC, AIX 5.2 FGL 2.20.06, GRE 1.00.16
4) I have not run the demo application.

Thanks

Joe Miller
