Genero NFL touchdown !

Dallas, Texas – October 12, 2010 — The United States National Football League (NFL) has selected Genero to refresh core business applications that administer and track the retirement and benefits plans for its players. Support for Microsoft Silverlight was a major criteria in the decision making process.

The NFL is considered to be the best-managed entity in the world of sports and has a comprehensive program of care benefits that improves the quality of life for retired players through financial grants and research. These applications provide a uniform administrative framework for a range of programs that benefit eligible former players. Currently, these benefits include: joint replacement; assisted living; discount prescription drugs; Medicare supplement insurance; spine treatment; neurological care; and life insurance. It is with great pleasure that we were able to provide these applications with a new lease of life.

About the NFL

In 1920 representatives of several professional American football leagues and independent teams founded the American Professional Football Conference, soon to be renamed the National Football League. The first official championship game was held in 1933. By 1958, when that season’s NFL championship game became known as “The Greatest Game Ever Played”, the NFL was on its way to becoming one of the most popular sports leagues in the United States. The merger with the American Football League, agreed to in 1966 and completed in 1970, greatly expanded the league and created the Super Bowl, which has become the most-watched annual sporting event in the United States.
